Privacy
What Trellis keeps, who sees it, and how to have it deleted.
What we keep
- Your name and email from Google sign-in, and your Telegram chat with Ellie.
- Your child’s name, class, school and student ID.
- Your child’s school portal password, encrypted. Only the part of
Trellis that logs in to the school can read it, and each use is recorded.
- What the school posts to your child’s class: circulars, messages,
homework, worksheets and their files. We don’t collect fees, marks,
attendance or report cards.
- Your questions to Ellie, the answers, and the messages we send you.
Who sees it
- Families in the same class see the same class posts. Posts that name
your child aren’t shared. Files the school sends to the class are
shared as the school sent them.
- Everything is stored on Google Cloud in Mumbai, India.
- Ellie’s answers are written by Google’s Gemini model, also in
Mumbai. Your question and your class’s posts are sent to it to write
the answer.
- Telegram delivers Ellie’s messages.
- Our pages load fonts from Google, which sees your IP address.
- We don’t sell data, show ads, or use analytics.
How long
- Your account, your child’s details, class posts, questions and
messages: until you ask us to delete them.
- Sign-in and invite codes: from 10 minutes to a day. Sync history: 30 days.
Server logs: 30 days.
Deleting your data
Write to trellis.support@gmail.com.
A person deletes your account, your child’s details and school
password, your questions and your messages. Class posts stay for the other
families in the class. The record of when the password was used stays.
